Our very first ‘drink of the month’ is awarded to the house aperitif at newly-opened Lorne, just a short walk away from Victoria station. Our full restaurant review will follow next month, but we couldn’t wait to let you know about their fabulous pre-prandial – the simply-named “Lorne Aperitif”, at £7.50 a glass.
There seems to be a trend at the moment to feature sherry in cocktails and the Lorne Aperitif is no exception. In this particular drink it works so well: combined with white port, rosemary and the more intriguing Chartreuse, it looks simple but tastes sublime and acts as the perfect opening to a wonderful dinner.
