The UK government’s announcement on 23 June that hospitality venues can re-open again on 4 July was the news we were all waiting for. Being able to step inside a restaurant again, or dine al fresco, without having to wash up afterwards is going to be wonderful, if a little odd at first. No doubt restaurants will need to find their feet again and indeed not everywhere is re-opening straight away on 4 July.
Sadly we know that quite a few restaurants have decided to shut their doors for good, including Siren at The Goring, The Greenhouse, The Ledbury, Sardine and Rick Stein’s restaurant in Porthleven to name but a few.
But out of the restaurants that we know are re-opening we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite and recommended restaurants in London and elsewhere in the UK, many of which we’ve reviewed favourably in the past. The list is divided into two parts: firstly, the restaurants opening in chronological order; the second part is the same selection of restaurants but in alphabetical order.
