Festive Hampers, Home Kits and Food Deliveries

Well, who would’ve thought it?  We’ve made it to the end of the year. Whatever you may be doing this festive season – whether celebrating within your permitted ‘bubbles’, self-isolating or just glad to see the back of 2020 – many restaurants throughout the UK are offering local or nationwide hampers and meal kits delivered to your door. There are many options out there but here is a brief round up of our recommendations.

 

Dishpatch (nationwide delivery)

Dishpatch have impressed this year and come to the rescue for many wanting to bring the restaurant dining experience home. For the festive season they have partnered with three great restaurants to offer the following:

The Wolseley / Corbin and King (nationwide delivery except for ‘home entertaining’)

The Wolseley has a delightful selection of winter hampers and gifts available. The wider Corbin and King group are also continuing their successful home delivery service which includes a new ‘home entertaining’ range. Take it from us, the coq au Riesling is utterly delicious. All deliveries are available nationwide except for the ‘home entertaining’ dishes which are limited to an 8 mile radius of Colbert in Chelsea.

Manteca (nationwide)

The new nose-to-tail Soho Italian restaurant is offering Christmas boxes for nationwide delivery each Friday in December with prices starting at £60 (including delivery). Their homemade panettone will also be made available for delivery and pre-order collection.

Restokit (delivery within the M25)

Restokit is another new digital platform allowing customers to purchase DIY kits – currently only available within the M25 region. They have paired up with the likes of Lima, The Sea The Sea, Sabor, Legare, Galvin La Chapelle, Trishna and Pizarro, many of which have festive meal kits available for virtual festive parties.

Pied a Terre (London)

Simon Rogan (nationwide)

Simon Rogan at Home offers special menus for Christmas and New Year, including a solo five course festive menu to bring some joy to those who may be isolating this festive period. They’re available for nationwide delivery between 18 and 23 December for Christmas and between 28 and 30 December for New Year. Collection is also possible at Rogan’s Cartmel shop. Momma Bains (Midlands, Cornwall and Cromer)

Not everyone wants to eat turkey and all the trimmings. Whilst Sat Bains’ legendary Nottingham restaurant is currently under Tier 3 restrictions, the Michelin-starred chef has teamed up with his mother to sell traditional samosas and vegan curries. The Momma Bains samosas will be available for sale in the Midlands and chefs Rick Stein and Galton Blackiston will be selling the samosas too in their Cornwall and Cromer chip shops respectively. The Pig Market (nationwide)
